** We have been feeling the coming of this moon for a few days now, most likely with a little apprehension**
** To say that this moon is intense would be an understatement as to the levels of sensation that people are experiencing on many levels; emotional, spiritual, and psychological **
A super moon occurs every year. The definition of a super moon is when the moon appears 14% bigger and 30% brighter then all the rest of the moons in the year.
This phenomenon occurs because the moon will reach perigee, its closest point to Earth in its elliptical orbit, at 11:34 p.m. ET and become full just a minute later.
When the moon is on the perigee side of its orbit, it’s about 31,000 miles closer to Earth than the apogee side.
The moon will appear largest and awe inspiring when it first rises. So be sure to catch it coming up.
The annual Eta Aquarid meteor shower, which is associated with Halley’s comet, will coincide with the coming perigee moon. Its light will likely dim all but the brightest meteors.
The Wesak moon occurs when the full moon is in Scorpio and the sun is in Taurus. Wesak is the celebration of Buddha’s birth, enlightenment and some also celebrate his death.
The ceremony of Wesak is held at the actual Wesak Valley in the Himalayas. A vast crowd assembles in the valley, in front of the great rock table where they chant and pray.
It is said that Wesak is when Christ gathers the entire spiritual Hierarchy together in meditation to invoke the forces of Shambhalla. The Buddha representing these forces appears and blesses humanity.
The second of the three major spiritual planetary festivals is The Wesak Festival, The Buddha’s Blessing, and is celebrated in the eastern hemisphere at the Taurus full moon. (The first, in April, is the Festival of the Christ and the third, in June, is the Festival of Humanity.) Wesak is the festival of The Buddha, divine intermediary between the highest spiritual center, Shamballa, and the Hierarchy.
Wesak – the Sun in Taurus Full Moon, is the most powerful Full Moon of the year. The Sun’s transit through Taurus exalts the Moon and Taurus is ruled by Venus, the spiritual ruler of Earth. Venus is identified with Mary, the World Mother. May, the month of Taurus, is the month of Mary. Venus appears in the west as the feathered serpent god Quetzalcoatl who brought enlightenment to the Mayans; in the east she is Maya, mother of the Buddha.
Lilith can only truly be seen when she is conjunct or opposite the Moon. “But when she is conjunct and opposite the Moon, that’s when we see her. The Moon brings her to life – or perhaps like a ghost, the Moon provides the psychic lens by which we can see her.” This then makes her a lot like Scorpio as that she is deep, dark, and mysterious. The fact that Lilith is revealed during this full moon may just mean that we need some of her power. We need to discover how creative and destructive we are both to ourselves and with others. Lilith will not let us shy away from the darkness within. Instead we will have to turn into the light of the sun and reveal it and face it. This is an opportunity to face what we find unnerving in this life such as issues with relationships, finance, material possesions, sex, etc … which all cause us to have attachements or expectations that will cause us to have unhappiness or be uncomfortable.
Even though this is a challenging moon there is a collective healing of the planet at the same time. Many will gather together in person or over the internet to meditate, connect, and send out healing loving energy for the planet and people.
Lots of Love and Light and Healing sent out for all xoxo
